Lily Andersen left the fast-paced film and television industry in Vancouver to attend the jewellery program at Kootenay Studio Arts at Selkirk College in Nelson. Not long after, she opened a shop called the Bench Jewelry Studio where she rented workspaces to other silversmiths and provides a safe and creative work environment for them to fabricate their own collections. 

“Each piece of jewelry has its own story and that story grows as the piece travels from my sketchbook to my workbench to the wearer. I get to imagine the special moments that lie ahead for each item that I design. This is one of the many satisfying and interesting parts of what I do.
